At The Hanover School of Ballet we believe that it is important for a ballet
student to have excellent training from the very beginning. Correct
technique is essential for a young dancer to mature into an artist of
professional quality. In our studio we offer a variety of dance and
movement classes with the help of our talented, diverse and inspired Artistic
Director. Our students are fortunate to have exposure to these different
expressions of movement in which there is a unified philosophy and goal to
connect the mind and body. The Hanover School of Ballet is supportive and
free from pressure. A student learns and grows most readily in this kind
of environment that combined technical ability with the joy of dancing.
Attire:
Ballet, Pointe and Pre-Ballet
Female Dancer: Black
leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Hair must be worn in a bun.
Note: Students who attend classes in ballet technique levels 2 through 7
must have their hair in a ballet bun with no bangs. Lower levels are permitted
bangs.
Male Dancer: Black tights
or black shorts, white tank leotard or white t-shirt, white socks and white
ballet slippers.
Jazz: Same as ballet except
split sole slip-on tan jazz shoes and black jazz pants.
When a child
learns to write and speak it is not always with the intent of becoming a
renowned author or speaker of sorts, but these fundamental concepts are learned
in a greater part as a necessity to transcend the boundaries of mediocrity.
Dance...is no exception. A child takes dance lessons not always to become a
professional dancer but because dance lessons develop poise, confidence, and
creative expression.
